The Ken is a new, digital-first, subscription-only publication. We worked with them a couple of years back to build the User Experience and Design a publishing system.
When they decided to launch Weekend Stories, The Ken approached us to define the editorial art style for these stories and design the first four stories.
“Grapes so sour, they’re lethal” is a gripping story about a subject not discussed very often. It is eye-opening and chilling in equal measure.
The key visuals of the story are created from scratch – using handmade clay characters, styled and modified dolls and other props. We conceptualised the visual theme, did the art direction and production of the sets and the photography and post-production.
