Room One is a London based cultural and arts institution with divisions such as Art, Theatre, Films, TV, Virtual Reality etc…
We worked with Room One on the Brand Architecture and Strategy, creating a system to bring together the diverse activities of the institution and a visual language for consistent expressions of the brand across media.
The name “Room One” alludes to that part of the brain where new ideas start. We built upon this premise, visually depicting Room One (the mother brand) as an empty square. This extends beautifully to create a hierarchy of extensions and a strong visual language. The logo system and visual language are inspired by architectural floor plans, which show spaces with endless possibilities of creation within.
The Brand System consists of a strong framework for extending the identity and building upon it to create everything from posters and banners to show tickets and websites. A detailed brand manual creates a framework of typography, color palettes, illustration and icon styles and patterns that provide a rich set of devices to express the brand.
