Swiggy is the largest Food Delivery service in India, with 5,000 restaurants across 8 cities. It delivers food from restaurants through a 3,000 strong fleet, in 45 minutes. It has more than a million app downloads.
We approached the Swiggy identity with the aim of creating a Simple, bold and memorable symbol that was familiar and immediately recognizable. The map marker has particular relevance to the brand’s delivery-based business. With that as the starting point, we created the “S” monogram that doubles up as the brand’s own custom map marker.
We extended this to a visual language that reinforced the brand and evoked a sophisticated technology vibe through the icon / illustration style, typography and a strong single color palette.
We worked with Swiggy in 2014, when they had raised only a seed round and had service in just a few neighborhoods of Bangalore. After the rebranding exercise, they have raised more than USD 60 Million across 4 rounds, from SAIF, Accel, NVP, DST Global and other investors.
